Currently a trial running 14 October 2025 – 13 October 2026. Off-leash access: 5:30am–10am and 5pm–9pm during daylight saving; 6am–10am and 4pm–7pm outside daylight saving.
The vibe
Most Northern Beaches ocean beaches don't permit dogs at all, even on-leash. The southern end of Mona Vale Beach is a rare exception: a timed off-leash trial letting dogs run, swim and dig in the sand at each end of the day.
Good to know before you go
This is a time-limited trial, not a permanent off-leash declaration — worth checking the council page for whether it's been extended before planning a visit close to or after October 2026.
Dog-access information last checked 19 August 2026 against Northern Beaches Council. Check the current official rules. Rules can change — always check before visiting.
