Dog access, in detail
Off-leash outside daylight saving 3pm–10am, and during daylight saving 4pm–10am, entering via Gate 5. Dogs are prohibited in the dune area behind the beach (protecting Merries Reef) and on the heritage-listed dunes east of the service trail. Leash your dog entering and leaving the off-leash zone.
The vibe
A long stretch of dune-backed sand south of Cronulla. Dog access is timed, not all-day — off-leash from mid-afternoon or evening through to mid-morning, via the Gate 5 entrance. Firm sand at low tide makes the off-leash window good for a proper run.

Unpatrolled — swimming here isn't recommended.
