May–August: off-leash all day, every day. September–April: off-leash only before 8:30am and after 4:30pm on weekdays (on-leash 8:30am–4:30pm); dogs are prohibited on the beach entirely on weekends and public holidays during these months.
The vibe
A quiet beach at Bundeena, on the doorstep of the Royal National Park. Access rules change with the seasons — genuinely off-leash for large parts of the year, but tightly timed (and closed to dogs on weekends) from spring through autumn.
Good to know before you go
Check the signage at the Brighton Street, Hordens Lane and Liverpool Street entrances — exact off-leash boundaries are marked on site.
Dog-access information last checked 19 August 2026 against Sutherland Shire Council. Check the current official rules. Rules can change — always check before visiting.
